Overthinker is a gift idea tool built to help you figure out what to get people, without asking you to sign up for anything. This page explains what little data we work with and why.
Quiz Answers
When you answer questions in Overthinker (who you're shopping for, budget, interests, and so on), those answers are used in the moment to generate gift suggestions and aren't saved to a database or tied to your identity. Once you close or refresh the page, they're gone.
No Account Required
Overthinker doesn't require you to log in, and we don't collect your name, email, or any other identifying information to use the app.
Analytics
We use anonymous, aggregate website analytics (visits, page views, general device type, and where visitors come from) to understand how people use Overthinker and improve it. This data isn't tied to individual visitors, isn't used to build a profile of you, and isn't sold to anyone.
Outbound Shopping Links
When you click "Shop the idea" or "Search near you," you'll be taken to a third party site (like Amazon or Google) to continue your search. Overthinker may earn a small commission on qualifying purchases made through some of these links, for example through the Amazon Associates program or similar affiliate programs, at no extra cost to you. Once you leave Overthinker, that site's own privacy policy and cookies apply, not ours.
What We Don't Do
We don't sell your personal information. We don't build advertising profiles. We don't track you across other websites.
About the Suggestions
Gift ideas are generated by AI based on what you tell us in the quiz. They're suggestions, not guarantees, we can't promise a product's price, availability, or that it'll actually be the right fit. You're responsible for your own purchase decisions, and we're not liable for anything bought through the outbound links in the app.
